Valor Home of Lorain County
Thank you for your interest in Valor Home Lorain County, a program of Family & Community Services, Inc., a private, not-for-profit, 501 (c) (3) Agency. Valor Home will provide transitional housing for homeless veterans in Lorain County, Ohio. The community has shown a commitment to donate funds for this much needed community resource. This is an overdue response to the well-documented needs of homeless veterans in Lorain County.
Located at 221 West 21st Street in Lorain, Valor Home is transforming from current office space to a place where homeless veterans in our community can get drug and alcohol counseling, vocational training, and other services through programs from both Family and Community Services and the VA and Veterans Health Clinic currently connected to the building with a walkway. This is not an overnight shelter. It's a new way of life. It's help for veterans to overcome obstacles all while having a safe, drug and alcohol free environment. Veterans can stay up to two years. Email Barb Gersna at ValorHomeLCVolonteers@erie1.comto volunteer with building renovation.
